Purveyors of fine glassware..

About Us

img Hooloo Glassworks was started by our 13 year old (at the time) daughter "Lina". Lina and her mom have become involved in pretty much every craft under the sun, and they're great at all of them. When she was 12, Lina decided she wanted to make glass beads. Somehow, the thought of her playing with fire scared me and I refused.

A year later, Lina and her mom saw a started kit for making glass beads at a local hobby shop. Still worried, I relented and decided that I should figure it out first as it came with very few instructions. As they say, "the rest is history". I was hooked on the torch.

In retrospect, it's not really a surprising that I was hooked, as I remember being fascinated with the glassblowers that used to occasionally sit outside Woolworth's at a local mall.

Although Ed is the primary lampworker these days, Lina, and her mom Hao, still occasionally make it out to the garage to work with the torch. Most of the time though they leave the torch to Ed.

Hao and Lina are a large part of the creative force in our group. Many times, they'll place "special orders" for Ed when he's at the torch so he can make their ideas come to life. They are also responsible for all of the post production. If you see any wire, chain or stringing of beads, they were involved.

Finally, Lina was responsible for getting this web site off the ground. Without her, it would still probably only have a front page!
